Ok so if you're going to Newport and looking to go on a good ghost tour, one would think you would want to choose the Belcourt Mansion, its rumored to be one of the most haunted mansions in Newport. Well just don't make it your first choice, that's all i can say. Tell me who would want to pay 25$ for a tour that is rumored to be one of the most haunted mansions and you can't even take pics, or videos inside. Don't get me wrong in my opinion there is definitely different energies from room to room. I also liked seeing the inside, and all the different artifacts from different countries ect.. i just wish we could have taken pics, we probley would have caught some orbs or something else. Another thing is you don't get a tour of the hole mansion, only the first and 2d floor. There doing some restoring so some places you normally could see you can't right now. Mrs Tilly is a cute old lady, although i think she's been telling the same story for far to long, just saying....lol all in all i have to say it was interesting in the history sense for sure, not so much if your looking to capture a pic of a spirit. Oh and one more thing be aware, the property mang. that greets you at the gate when you first get there, well he is a little rude. There was a lady in line who said she parked way down the street and didn't want to walk that far to return her camera. His reply to her in front of everyone was " if you know how to read, it clearly says to park on either the left or right side of the mansion" ugh.. so rude i felt embarrassed for her.

DeleteWhile at Belcourt castle Dan debunked the music room mirror myth. If you have seen the clip on you tube it says that the mirror is secure to the wall, but it is very clearly hanging from a single chain. The music room has two large french doors in it, and they were open. The breeze coming in was making the mirror move. For someone who has lived in this "haunted house" for fifty some years one would think that Mrs. Tilly would have debunked this myth herself. If you ask me Belcourt castle is just an old house owned by a little old crazy lady that likes to tell stories. The house was falling apart, and at $25 dollars a head I'm sure there much nicer, and larger mansions to see while in Newport.
